Challenge

How might we design and facilitate a holistic and strategic marketing plan for SIE Immersion Programs that conveys to potential participants the empowering and transformative nature of these immersive learning experiences and compels them to participate?

The SIE CoLab is a social enterprise focused on catalyzing and facilitating the transition to a sustainable, regenerative world that equally values and connects social, economic, and environmental priorities.

They offer services through the SIE Learning Lab (training, certificates), SIE Practice Lab (hands-on with client-partners), and SIE Immersion Lab (educational travel experiences) in which they work with individuals, organizations, and communities and help them to transform mental models, bridge long-standing boundaries that have separated disciplines, activate adaptive leadership & human potential, and accelerate system-wide collaboration.

The SIE CoLab was co-founded by a former professor of mine, Bruce Manciagli, who also led the SIE Bali Immersion program I participated in during the Summer of 2019 while it was still offered as an International Program through Florida State University.

The SIE Bali Immersion program is now offered independent of Florida State University, reimagined by the SIE Colab in partnership with the Bali Institute and no longer limited to undergraduate students at FSU. However, most of the SIE CoLab’s network and social media following are faculty of or alumni of FSU, many who have already participated.

Design Process

Research

The first step for our team was to understand what past participants liked about the experience. We dug through past testimonials and reflections to identify common themes and areas of impact.

We also identified various models that inspire. What do we like about these models? How are they successful and impactful?

Ideate

Next was to narrow our messaging and key points. What audiences do we want to reach? What story do we want to tell?

I brainstormed how I could visually communicate this into a concise, user-friendly flow with a clear call-to-action for next steps.

Process

With a clear understanding of the information that needed to be included and an idea of the story we want to communicate, I began sourcing content, creating graphics, and sketching wireframes.

I collaborated with the program coordinator, marketing support, and SIE CoLab founders to finalize the structure and content for the webpage.

Solution

Email Campaign

Provide lead targeting criteria for an email campaign that aligns with our target audiences.

Web Design

Design and build new ‘SIE Immersion’ webpage(s)

Collateral

Produced a 30s promotional video, 3 weeks of social media graphics, and print materials

Web Design

Built and designed a new 'SIE Immersion' webpage and the included graphics for the SIE CoLab website in Wix.
Organized under their provided services, it clearly communicates a call-to-action to register for the 2025 Bali Immersion trip or to submit an interest form to stay up-to-date on future SIE Immersion trips. It also includes program benefits, testimonials, and photos from Bali and past trips (photography provided from past participants).

Graphics & Social Media

Designed numerous graphics for social media channels LinkedIn and Instagram, as well as flyers and handbills for in-person events.

Promotional Video

Produced a promotional video in Adobe Premiere Pro for the Bali Immersion trip. Utilized professional drone footage and photography from former participant and current SIE CoLab coworker, Charlie Gardener, as well as photos from the adult program provided by the Bali Institute.
